Britney Spears has a certain “type” of guy she seems to go for… normally a bad-boy, a bit cocky, and we know the girl loves a British accent. So it just makes sense that Britney Spears could fall for Russell Brand, who is a former drug abuser and well as sex addict.

britney spears and Brand were said to have had a date at Hollywood’s Little Red Door restaurant, where they arrived and left separately so they would not be photographed together.

Britney and Russell seemed quite comfortable with one another at Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards. The two do seem to have some chemistry between them.

Brand had just broken off a relationship with Australian Teresa Palmer, and Russell told the reporters he was back on the prowl. Brand said he was “footloose and fancy free”.

In what appears to be an incredibly lame attempt to promote his band, Pete Wentz wandered around Los Angeles yesterday wearing a porn star anchorman toupee and a matching blond tendril he must’ve snipped off the back and taped to his upper lip. Pete seems to be pulling a very obvious John Mayer stunt: dress up in a costume so the paparazzi will follow you around incessantly! Though if nothing else, by obviously courting the press he at least show’s he’s someone business savvy and recognizes that he needs them.

We caught up with Vlad the Baker, aka Pete Wentz today playing the role of a pastry chef promoting his business. That “business” was Fresh Only Bakery, or F.O.B. for short. (Fall Out Boys, anyone?) Pete was handing out promotional t-shirts from the bakery truck driving up and down Melrose Ave. Later in the afternoon, wifey Ashlee came out to show her support.

Um… creative marketing ploy? Blatant fame whoring? Or just incredibly, incredibly stupid? I could argue any of them if I wanted to. Though he sometimes annoys me, at the end of the day I think Pete Wentz is probably a pretty decent guy with a good heart. But he does stuff like this and it makes it really hard not to pick on him. So I’m going to put y bully instincts aside and just giggle at pictures.

Ryan Seacrest, the most famous metrosexual in the world or the biggest closet case, depending on whom you believe, appeared on Ellen Degeneres’ talk show today and whined about how he’s so busy with his career that he doesn’t have time to find a girlfriend. Ellen’s gaydar didn’t seem to be going off at this remark, because she didn’t burst into fits of laughter. Instead, she showed pictures of famous female celebs and asked Seacrest which one was his type.

Ellen DeGeneres — matchmaker?

On Friday’s Ellen DeGeneres Show, she agreed to fix up Ryan Seacrest after he lamented about his lackluster love life.

He said he has been “so busy” he hasn’t had time to look for love.

“Yes, but you’re going to wait too long and get in a rut being single,” said DeGeneres, who wed Portia de Rossi this past summer.

DeGeneres then held up photos of famous women — Pam Anderson, britney spears, carrie underwood, eva mendes and jennifer aniston — and asked Seacrest to pick one.

He chose Mendes first.

“She’s gorgeous,” he said. “Yeah, I kind of went there first. I like Carrie, but then I kind of feel like she is part of the Idol thing, so I don’t know if that’s the right thing to do.”

Spears, he said, “is young and obviously there’s enough going on and that’s not for me.”

But Mendes, he went on, “is great.”

“Would you like me to set you up with her?” DeGeneres asked.

“Yeah,” said Seacrest.

For now, Seacrest has one famous lady in his life: paris hilton. On Friday, he announced that they will develop a new scripted series together.

Ugh- a Paris Hilton scripted series? Like her other reality shows weren’t scripted. This is yet another reason to hate Seacrest, who is responsible for such reality show suckfests as “Keeping up with the Kardashians” and “denise richards: It’s Complicated.” Even if Ryan actually did like women, there’s no way Eva Mendes would want to associate herself with someone who thought those shows were a good idea. If I were Ellen, I would have thrown in a random photo of a really attractive female impersonator, just to see what Ryan would pick. Maybe that’s why I don’t have my own talk show.

pamela anderson recently explained how she told her kids about one of her famous sex tapes with an ex - the one starring their dad, rocker Tommy Lee. She said the conversation became necessary because they wanted to watch Borat, which makes references to the sex tape. She kind of glossed over the details and then tried to distract them during the relevant scenes in the movie. Anderson has two boys with Tommy Lee, Brandon Thomas, 12, and Dylan Jagger, 10.

She says, “I explained to them… ‘Mom and daddy run about naked all the time and we taped some things… and someone stole the tape.’ They really wanted to see Borat and I finally had a breakdown and let them because all their friends had (seen it) and I said: ‘There are a few things we have to talk about before you see Borat.’ So I did sit down with them and watch Borat. I kind of went ‘La la la’ over the parts I didn’t want them to hear… I tried to muddle through that.”

Anderson also is making headlines for being the latest celebrity to talk smack about Republican vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin. When asked about Palin’s bearskin, which she was photographed sitting in front of in a legitimate picture (unlike the photoshopped American flag bikini and gun photo), Anderson rolled her eyes said “She can suck it.” She did not appear entirely sober in the video and kind of slurred her words. Anderson is a vegetarian and animal rights activist.

britney spears showed such remarkable progress at the recent MTV Awards, her handlers and the record producers are ecstatic!  They are so happy with her win of three awards, they are going to capitalize on it.  Surprise!  She’s looks well enough, so latch on and exploit her all over again.

The Hills star Lauren Conrad has signed a three-book deal for a series of young adult fiction novels. The reality-TV star, 22, has teamed up with publishers at HarperCollins for the series called “L.A. Candy,” which will be loosely based on her “transition from regular gal to recognizable face.”

Conrad says, “I’ve always loved books that I could lose myself in, ones that would transport me to another place, but had characters I could relate to. I’m so excited to have this opportunity to write books like that for other readers.”

A spokesperson for HarperCollins insists the deal with Conrad is already creating waves in the literary world: “I’ve never seen a new project generate noise like the instant buzz that swept through our offices around this deal. The Hills and Lauren Conrad are household names among our staff.”

Conrad’s first book in the series is due to hit shelves next summer.

Brad Pitt recently admitted, “I think every guy has fantasized about being up there on stage playing to an audience. I still play the guitar now but at my age I know I suck. I love playing and I love music but that dream has gone.”
The stunning 27-year-old star Kim Kardashian is all geared up to compete in Dancing With the Stars (Season 7). She said, “I would be down with [launching a singing career], if it was something fun. I love music, so it would just have to be the right thing.”
Now when the old guy Brad’s guitar sucks, we can pray for Kim to be successful in her music ambitions.
